　　Lucinda Williams出生于1953年1月26号，她是一位在美国乡村届有很高声望的歌手。她在1978年和1980年录制的前两张专辑是传统的乡村和蓝调风格，这两张都受到了公众和媒体的极大关注，再电台的成绩也不错。1988年，她发行了一张同名专辑《Lucinda Williams》，这张专辑包括了著名的那首"Passionate Kisses" （在1992年被Mary Chapin Carpenter翻唱），这首经典的乡村歌曲为Lucinda Williams赢得了她第一座葛莱美奖（1994年的最佳乡村歌曲）。
　　以慢工出名的 Lucinda Williams，在接下来的几年只发行了一张专辑，1992年的《Sweet Old World》，不过随后的1998年，Lucinda Williams 发行了她最成功的一张专辑《Car Wheels On A Gravel Road》。2002年，Lucinda Williams 被时代杂志评选为“美国最佳歌曲作家”。
　　到目前为止，Lucinda Williams 共获得了3座葛莱美奖和7次提名。 在长时间的等待之后，Lucinda Williams 终于在1998年发行了她的里程碑作品《Car Wheels On A Gravel Road》。
