96年，Phil Collins为Pausini谱写一曲"Looking For An Angel"，开启Pausini演唱英文歌曲新页，99、2000年分别为【瓶中信】、【神奇宝贝】灌唱插曲"One More Time"、"The Extra Mile"累积诠释英文歌曲经验，为了希望能将之前录唱西班牙与葡萄牙文时那份用歌声反映文化的情感带到自己的英文专辑，Pausini以两年的时间投入首张英文大碟「From The Inside」的录唱，大部分的录唱工程都在加州进行，Atlantic音乐厂牌动员全美乐坛黄金制作卡司与身兼执行制作的Pausini细心琢磨，这串名单包括：John Shanks (Michelle Branch、The Corrs)、KC Porter (Carlos Santana、Ricky Martin)、Guy Roche (Cher、Celine Dion)、Evan Rogers /Carl Sturken ('NSYNC、Christina Aguilera)、Patrick Leonard (Jewel)、 Jimmy Bralower (M2M、Cyndi Lauper)…等，首支单曲"Surrender"巧妙串接舞曲与流行摇滚乐，将Pausini的情感活力全然释放，驾驭快歌的唱功媲美Celine Dion、Lara Fabian，率先抢下加拿大单曲榜TOP 8，带有都会爵士慵懒迷情色彩的混音版更跳登Billboard舞曲播放榜冠军以及舞曲销售榜TOP 4；KC Porter赢得2001年拉丁葛莱美奖最佳制作人荣衔作品"Every Day Is A Monday"在清亮略带辽阔的编曲旋律中点出Pausini活泼奔放的歌唱性格；Celine Dion幕后词曲创作Shelly Peiken为Pausini 98年意大利文畅销单曲"In Assenza Di Te"改填上英文歌词的"It's Not Good-Bye"以及跟Patrick Leonard合作的"Every Little Thing You Do"(尤其是钢琴伴奏版)显见Pausini用歌声揣摩歌词感人情境的细腻质地；Guy Roche操刀的"I Need Love"在和谐的旋律里散发着渴望真爱的激亢情绪；流露轻盈律动感的"Do I Dare"则体现Pausini挑战英文专辑的心情。Billboard称赞『「From The Inside」是张魅力十足的专辑』，更是对Laura Pausini演唱英文歌曲实力的莫大肯定。
